Mechanical Repairs

Mechanical Repairs

We are a working mechanical workshop, not only a certification centre. Repairs are carried out here on site, by the same team that inspects and certifies vehicles.

Repairs found during compliance

Most of our repair work comes out of compliance inspection. A vehicle fails on something, it has to be put right before it can pass, and we fix it here rather than sending you elsewhere and re-booking the inspection afterwards.

That matters for imported vehicles in particular. A vehicle that has been shipped across an ocean, sat at a port, and come from a market with different servicing intervals will often need attention regardless of whether it fails anything outright.

What we work on

  • Brakes, including rotor skimming and component replacement
  • Suspension and steering, followed by 3D wheel alignment
  • Engine and cooling system faults
  • Exhaust and emissions-related repairs
  • Electrical faults and warning lights
  • General servicing and tuning

Structural damage is different

Repairs to a vehicle's structure — from a crash, or from serious rust — are a separate process requiring certification. See repair certificates, which we are approved by NZTA to issue on site.

You approve the work first

Anything we find beyond what was agreed gets quoted to you before we touch it, and appears on your online job record. Nothing is added to the final invoice without your say-so.

Not importing a vehicle?

You do not need to be a compliance customer. If you want general mechanical work done, get in touch — we are on Great South Road in Otahuhu, and also serve Penrose, Onehunga, Manukau and Papatoetoe.
